Sho-Mei Pelletier, Associate Principal violin, follows a legacy of musicians and artists; families from China, Canada, and Mexico; and religious influences from Buddhism to Judaism. Her musical affiliations include serving as Associate Principal violin with the Santa Fe Opera for 25 years as well as solo performances with the Dallas Chamber Orchestra, the Voices of Change, the Dallas Bach Society, the Walden series, the Kodaly Ensemble, the Arensky Trio, the YES String Quintet and the Young Strings Piano Trio.

Alexandra Adkins
Alexandra (Sasha) Adkins has held the Associate Principal Violin II position since the 1987-88 season. She is a native of Ukraine where she began her violin studies much too early at 5. Following her family’s move to the United States, she continued her violin studies in Cleveland, Cincinnati Conservatory and Bloomington, Indiana.

Gary Levinson
Gary Levinson is the Senior Principal Associate Concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth. Chosen by Zubin Mehta to join the New York Philharmonic before the completion of his undergraduate degree from the Juilliard School in 1988, Mr. Levinson made his New York Philharmonic solo debut in 1991, under the baton of Erich Leinsdorf, coinciding with the completion of his Master’s of Music degree at the Juilliard School, where his teachers included Dorothy DeLay, Glenn Dicterow and Felix Galimir.
