Pedro Mendez

Pedro Mendez is a Venezuelan violist and violinist who began his musical studies in EL SISTEMA. He obtained a minor degree in Violin Performance from the Vicente Emilio Sojo Conservatory in 2015 and concurrently studied at Academia Latinoamericana de Violín under the guidance of Luis Miguel Gonzalez and José Francisco del Castillo (student of Ivan Galamian).

Keeon Guzman

Keeon Guzman, of Anchorage, Alaska, recently completed his Master’s studies with high distinction at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, studying with Enrico Bronzi. Previously, Keeon obtained a Bachelor’s degree and a Performance Diploma at the Indiana University Jacobs
School of Music under the tutelage of Eric Kim and Brandon Vamos. He has furthered his studies at the Pacific Music Festival, Music Master Course Japan Yokohama, Domaine Forget Music Festival, and the National Repertory Orchestra.

Violinist Jimin Lim joins Dallas Symphony for the 2023-2024 Season. She comes from Nashville Symphony, where she has played with the second violin section since 2017 and as acting associate principal second this past season. She has also performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as a substitute player.

Sarah Sung

Australian-Korean violist Sarah Sung is the First Prize winner of the 2023 Musicians Club of Women Competition in Chicago, and winner of the Australian NSW Concerto Competition making her double concerto debut at age 12, with her violist sister, Lisa. Sarah takes music beyond the stages of Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House, traveling globally to diverse and marginalized communities since the age of eight.

James Romeo joined the DSO as the piccolo player in 2022. Previously, he served as Assistant Principal Flute/Piccolo with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for the 2019/20 season. He has performed as Guest Principal Flute with the San Diego Symphony, the San Diego Opera, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, the Tucson Symphony and the Modesto Symphony and has also performed with the Indianapolis Symphony and Canton Symphony Orchestras.
