Stephen Ahearn

Stephen Ahearn joined the Dallas Symphony in the fall of 2012. In addition to his work at the DSO, Stephen performs regularly with Voices of Change in Dallas and the Chatter chamber music series in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

Paul Garner is Associate Principal and E-flat clarinetist of the Dallas Symphony. Prior to his Dallas appointment, he held similar positions in the orchestras of Denver and New Orleans and was a member of the United States Military Academy Band at West Point.

Gregory Raden

Gregory Raden has served as Principal Clarinetist of the Dallas Symphony since 1999. Prior to this appointment, he held positions as Assistant Principal of the National Symphony Orchestra, and Principal Clarinetist of the Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra and the Charleston Symphony

David Matthews

David Matthews joined the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 1991 and has been solo English horn since 1995. He attended the University of North Texas, where he studied with Charles Veazey.

Brent Ross

Brent Ross joined the DSO as second oboist in 2008, following four seasons as Associate Principal/second oboe in the San Antonio Symphony. He has participated in festivals such as the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival, Tanglewood, and Aspen, among others.

Willa Henigman

Willa Henigman joined the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 1996. Prior to coming to Texas, she was Principal Oboe of the Wichita (KS) Symphony Orchestra and served on the faculty of Wichita State University, recording two CD’s with WSU’s Lieurance Woodwind Quintet.

Erin Hannigan

Erin Hannigan is the Principal Oboe of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and was previously a member of the Rochester Philharmonic. She has been guest Principal Oboist with the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony and the St. Louis Symphony.

Kara Kirkendoll Welch

Kara Kirkendoll Welch’s playing has been described in Fanfare Magazine as “inspired…technique second to none…[Welch] coaxes her flute to produce the most gorgeous sounds.” Welch has been a flutist in the Dallas Symphony Orchestra since 2000 and is Adjunct Professor of Flute at Southern Methodist University.

David Buck

David Buck was appointed Principal Flute of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 2017. Praised for his “supple tone, rhythmic dynamism and technical agility” (The Oregonian), he previously held positions with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic and Oregon Symphony.
