Caitlyn Smith Franklin

Caitlyn Smith Franklin is acting Fourth Horn of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for the 2024/25 season. Previously a busy freelancer in the San Francisco Bay Area, Caitlyn appeared in the pit regularly as a frequent substitute with the San Francisco Opera and the San Francisco Ballet, including a one-year contract as Fourth Horn with the San Francisco Ballet for the 2022/23 season, and has performed extensively and toured nationally and internationally as an extra with the San Francisco Symphony.

Stuart Stephenson

Stuart Stephenson joined the DSO as Principal Trumpet in the 2022/23 season. Stephenson was the Principal Trumpet of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and has also been a guest musician with the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra and the Kansas City Symphony.

Cody McClarty

Elmer Churampi

A native of Lima, Peru, Elmer Churampi began playing the trumpet when he was four years old with his father who is also a trumpet player that plays on street bands. Elmer was invited to be part of the National Youth Orchestra of Peru when he was seven years old and was a soloist three times with the National Symphony of Peru at the ages of 7, 8 and 9 performing Carnaval de Venecia, the Haydn Trumpet Concerto and the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto.

Matthew Good

Matthew Good joined the Dallas Symphony in 1995. He began his college career at The Juilliard School, but was invited to move to Philadelphia to study at the Curtis Institute after his freshman year.

Darren Mchenry

Darren McHenry, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, joined the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 1995 on bass trombone. As a young musician, McHenry attended the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina and the National Orchestral Institute at the University of Maryland for several summers.

Christopher Oliver

Chris Oliver, an East Texas native, has been playing with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra since 2008, and was named 2nd trombone of the Symphony in February of 2010. Prior to his appointment, Chris was Principal Trombone of the Akron and Canton Symphonies in Ohio, and the Wheeling Symphony in West Virginia. He also performed frequently with The Cleveland Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Barry Hearn

Barry Hearn, a native of Bloomington,TX, is the Principal Trombonist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Prior to that, he was Assistant Principal Trombonist of the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, DC where he completed seven seasons.

Ryan Anthony

Virtuoso trumpeter Ryan Anthony is noted for his varied career as soloist, educator, chamber musician and orchestral player. Having departed the world-renowned ensemble ‘Canadian Brass’ nearly ten years ago, Anthony quickly became one of the most sought after trumpet players in America both as soloist and an orchestral player.

Kevin Finamore

Kevin Finamore won the position of Second Trumpet in the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 2000. His responsibilities include rotating within the trumpet section and he can often be heard playing principal trumpet on both classics and pops concerts.
