Caitlyn Smith Franklin is acting Fourth Horn of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for the 2024/25 season. Previously a busy freelancer in the San Francisco Bay Area, Caitlyn appeared in the pit regularly as a frequent substitute with the San Francisco Opera and the San Francisco Ballet, including a one-year contract as Fourth Horn with the San Francisco Ballet for the 2022/23 season, and has performed extensively and toured nationally and internationally as an extra with the San Francisco Symphony.

Stuart Stephenson joined the DSO as Principal Trumpet in the 2022/23 season. Stephenson was the Principal Trumpet of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and has also been a guest musician with the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra and the Kansas City Symphony.

Elmer Churampi

A native of Lima, Peru, Elmer Churampi began playing the trumpet when he was four years old with his father who is also a trumpet player that plays on street bands. Elmer was invited to be part of the National Youth Orchestra of Peru when he was seven years old and was a soloist three times with the National Symphony of Peru at the ages of 7, 8 and 9 performing Carnaval de Venecia, the Haydn Trumpet Concerto and the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto.
